Whitney Elizabeth Houston is the youngest of four children born in Newark the state of New Jersey, on August 9 in 1963. Their parents include gospel vocalists Cissy Houston - born Emily Lee Drinkard - and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne Warwick was also famous for her singing.
