Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. She was named by her parents for the town in which she grew in. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father and mother are both Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. Ryder is also half-sister to Sunyata Jubal. Her older brother is Uria. Ryder along with her whole family relocated to Mendocino, California at the age of seven. Ryder was only seven years old. In Mendocino County, they did not have electricity. Ryder became an avid read because they had no television. At the age of 12 years old, Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. Lucas was let go in 1986 and Ryder, then only 15, landed the role of a leading actress. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. She thought that by becoming an actor, her behavior could be reduced. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. However, she continued to pursue her goals. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first big break. Ryder was able to continue her successful parts in a variety of films. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated to win Academy Awards. One of was for her performance In The Age of Innocence.
